In my work, traditional bookbinding techniques share space with sculptural forms that abandon or re-invent conventional book forms. Non-traditional materials interrupt the expected in works that challenge what a book can be while still honoring what a book does.
Much of my work documents not conquest of both internal and external landscapes but relationship with it; the pleasures of being present and belonging to the places that shape us; the satisfaction of claiming "here" (wherever here happens to be) as enough.
